Our UK Car Import Service

How it works

When importing vehicles into the UK, you need to ensure that your automobile is customs cleared and that the DVLA have approved it. This involves payment of duty and VAT (if applicable), and will include registration with the DVLA.

Below is the process for customs clearing a car in the UK.

Send us your documents

For us to declare your car to HMRC, we need the following documents from you:

A commercial invoice (if your purchase was in the last three months), or a valuation of your vehicle from a UK garage. Note that the DVLA do not accept online evaluations or a photo of the VIN/chassis number

A vehicle logbook.

You can send these documents to us by emailing us

Review and Confirm the Import Declaration

After we receive your vehicle details, our team will draft a complete import declaration based on the provided information. We’ll then send this declaration to you for review, allowing you to confirm all details before we proceed. This step is essential to ensure the accuracy of the information submitted to customs and helps prevent delays. Once you’re satisfied with the declaration’s accuracy, you can confirm it with us so that we can proceed to the next stage of the import and clearance process smoothly.

Customs Clearance and VAT Processing

Once you’ve confirmed the declaration, we’ll clear the vehicle through customs on your behalf, processing any applicable VAT. Please note that this VAT is non-refundable once paid. Following customs clearance, we initiate the necessary procedures to obtain the NOVA (Notification of Vehicle Arrival) from HMRC.

NOVA Documentation Delivery

Once HMRC issues the NOVA, we’ll send the documentation directly to you. This document is essential for your vehicle’s registration in the UK, finalising the import process and preparing your vehicle for UK roads.
